| Notes: The pen has been
supporting three adult pairs along with their ducklings. All the
greenery has stayed in tact, most of the offspring will be sold in the
fall. I had cut down a large tree to put this pen up, it has begun to
grow back which has given more shade along with the Blue Spruce in the
pen. The
pond with EPDM liner has worked well. It is pumped out and
refilled about four times a week using a sewage/effluent Zoeller pump.
Years ago I had put a small EPDM liner pond in another pen for
the Call ducks. I initially used an ordinary sump pump which
constantly plugged up. The sewage/effluent pumps that handle
solids have given me very little problems. |
