| Raised Pen Dimensions |
| Below are some rough
dimensions of the raised pens. If you have a question or need
some other measurements just ask and I will be glad to get them to you.
You can
also get some of the frame photos from my raised
pen section. Search around on the web for some different photos of raised pens that others use and you may find some ideas you can add to these that might work better in your situation. |

| All the main frame wood is from 2x4 pressure treated. Box sides are pre-primed shed siding I picked up from Home Depot, it is similar to T-111 siding. Top lid of box is plywood painted although you could used anything. Top of caged end has wire stapled on, in the photo I also have a piece of plywood setting on it. |

| Cage
doors are 14x14 covering an opening that is 12 inches wide by a little
over 11 inches high. On the cage doors you could find an old
grill grate or some shelving from an old fridge. Make sure you
cover the sharp edges of the door opening with some type of door guard. You can see from the photo above that the top is hinged in the front and opens from the back. The water pan sets in a frame, you can see the frame in the photo below. Wire is over it in the picture but I trace out the pan I use and cut out the wire so the pan actually is supported by the frame. The photo is the front of the pen. |
| The front
part has the wire on top of the frame........the rear section has the
wire on the bottom. The reason for this is that I can fill
the back with 3.5 inches of straw or shavings for them. On the wire you use, just make sure it will handle the preditors you might have in your area. |
