We get to see alot of wildlife but don't always have the camera handy at the right times. Here are some of those times when we were ready. The first is of some wild turkey. We rarely see pheasants anymore but are seeing alot more wild turkey.
We have an old Box Elder tree in the back yard that shades our Call duck pen. This Screech owl has been there off and on all year. Every morning it watches the ducks when we let them out. Screech owls are small, they stand about eight inches tall.
Of course if you live out where there is alot of grassy fields, woods and rocky soil than you have probably seen your fair share of snakes. Every Spring we see the Garter snakes in a "mating ball". There might be 10 or maybe 40 intertwined with each other. They usually scatter when you get close. I laid down on the grass next to their holes till they re-grouped to take these photos. Garter snakes eat bugs and are good for the garden.
We have had some turtles in the creek, this was the biggest one so far. Kids all got some looks, took a few photos and sent him back to the creek.

Always seem to have rabbits.......alot of rabbits.
This is our ferocious guard dog, he is a Havanese. We all had different names picked for him but settled with "Java" since we are all addicted to coffee.
Our horse, Dooley, is a registered Paint.
