borg trophy

Every time I visit Indy I make sure to visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum located inside the track at the south end.  It contains two gift shops, various IMS offices, photography department, small theater and a show room floor with all kinds of racing memorabilia including trophies, equipment and upwards of 75 vehicles will be on display at one time.  The Borg-Warner Trophy is the coveted prize of the Indy 500 winner.  90+ faces are on the trophy which was first awarded in 1936 to Louis Meyer.  That same year Meyer drank milk in Victory Lane which, but for a few years, became the tradition.  Only one face on the trophy is wearing glasses......Tom Sneva, who was also the first driver to run an official lap of over 200mph in 1977.
