Nest Box 1 - 2008

I finally had a Mandarin duck choose this nest box. The box is located the furthest of the rest and required the most work as far as wiring goes so I was hoping it would be used. I will not have the time to give a daily report but will post video/photos as I can. The duck in the nest is a 2006 hatch Mandarin, she began setting around the middle of April.

05/12/08 - Took these photos and video in the morning. When I enter the pen to put in the feed, that is usually when the setting ducks will cover their clutch and leave their nests.

05/12/08 - Here is a portion of the video, the file size is just under 2MB (windows media video file). The video clip will show the Mandarin duck covering her eggs before leaving the nest.
